March 2017 Scholarships

 

Texas Department of Transportation – Deadline:  March 1st

  • Special consideration will be given to students interested in a career with TxDOT
  • This is for students interested in civil engineering, finance/accounting, communications, GIS, or Planning.
  • Recipients of the grant can receive up to $3,000 each fall and spring semester.The grant will not exceed $6,000 per academic year.
  • The student must be a Texas resident, considered economically disadvantaged and be registered as a full-time student.

 Texas Farm Bureau: Young Farmer & Rancher Scholarship – Deadline:  March 1st

  • Family must be a member of Farm Bureau
  • Must be planning a degree in agriculture
  • High School Transcript, ACT or SAT scores
  • 1 letter of recommendation
  • Wallet sized photo (used if you are a recipient for publication purposes)
  • $1,000
  • Pick up application from Mrs. Mays or online at www.texas farmbureau.org
Texas Farm Bureau: Dick Mitchell Memorial Scholarship – Deadline:  March 1st
  •  Family must be a member of Farm Bureau
  • Applicant must have attended the Texas Farm Bureau Youth Leadership conference
  • Essay: Typewritten two page essay describing future education plans and lifetime goals
  • $1,000

Texas Farm Bureau: Memorial/Honorary Scholarship – Deadline:  March 1st

  • Family must be a member of Farm Bureau
  • High School Transcript, ACT or SAT scores
  • Wallet sized photo
  • Must have completed a community service project through 4-H or FFA which promotes agriculture.
  • (1) $1,200 and (3) $1,000

Texas Farm Bureau: S. M. True, Jr. Agricultural Scholarship – Deadline:  March 1st

  • Family must be a member of Farm Bureau
  • Provide 2 letter of recommendation:(1) from the county Farm Bureau president from the applicant’s membership county, and (1) from the dean or head of the agriculture program department of the applicant’s college or university
  • Be enrolled, or about to enroll, in an agriculture program major, provide a copy of expected for major
  • $20,000
  • Pickup application from Mrs. Mays

State Farm Companies Foundation – Deadline:  March 2nd

  • Must be a high school senior who will graduate at the end of the 2016-2017 school year
  • Plan to enroll in full time undergraduate study for the entire 2017-2018 academic year
  • Have a cumulative grade point average of 2.50 to 3.20 on a 4.00 scale
  • Be a U. S. citizen
  • Demonstrate financial need

 Capital Farm Credit Hill Country Regional Scholarship – Deadline:  March 3rd

  • Applicants must be upcoming high school graduate, within school year applied
  • Must be pursuing a degree in an agricultural or natural resources related field of study
  • Current High School Transcript
  • 1-2 letters of recommendation
  • Essay on topic given in application
  • (10) $1,000

San Angelo Area Foundation Scholarship – Deadline:  March 15th

  • Provide the names, phone numbers and emails of at least 2 references that can provide recommendations
  • Student will need to upload transcripts and other documents that can be as large as 10 MB. If unable to upload their documents please have them mail them in.
  • The Foundation manages over 100 scholarship funds. Only one application is necessary to be considered for all scholarships in the Foundation.
  • The application must be submitted online.

Central Texas Farm Credit Scholarship – Deadline:  March 15th

  • Must be a graduating senior
  • Must pursue an agricultural related degree
  • Must reside inside of Central Texas Farm Credit’s 19 county territory
  • Be accepted to a junior college, community college, or four-year university
  • High School Transcript
  • One page essay
  • (5) $2,000
  • Pick up application from Mrs. Mays

Texas Telephone Association Foundation – Deadline:  March 17th

  • Special consideration will be given to students who will be pursuing a college degree in fields of study which are of particular interest to telecommunications (such as math, business, education, technology, engineering, and computer science)
  • 3.0 GPA or higher
  • Letter of acceptance from a Texas College or University
  • Copy of student’s SAR (Student Aid Report) from the FAFSA
  • (6) $1,500

Texas Farm Bureau: McCulloch County Farm Bureau Scholarship – Deadline:  March 24th

  • Family must be a member of Farm Bureau
  • Copy of High School Transcript
  • (3) letters of recommendation
  • (1) page essay – must be written essay stating why he/she deserves the scholarship and how agriculture has impacted their life
  • $1,000
  • Pick up application from Mrs. Mays

Leadership San Angelo Alumni Association Scholarship – Deadline:  March 31st

  • High School transcript, ACT or SAT scores
  • (1) letter of recommendation
  • Proof of community service
  • (4) $1,000
  • Pick up application from Mrs.Mays
  • Mail to address on application

Career & Technology Association of Texas (CTAT) – Deadline:  March 31st

  • Students scheduled to graduate high school during the 2015-2016 school year and actively enrolled in CTE throughout their high school career
  • Student must have successfully completed at least three credits in two or more CTE courses and currently enrolled in a CTE course for the fall and/or spring semester of their senior year
  • (2) signed letters of recommendation with original signatures
  • Verification form with original signatures
  • Student essay
  • Transcript with GPA listed
  • Verify spring course enrollment with a copy of current (6-9 week) report card
  • Pick up application from Mrs. Mays

Central Texas Telephone Scholarship – Deadline: March 31st

  • Applicants family must be members of Central Texas Telephone Cooperative
  • Essay: Explain in 100 words or less what your college plans are and why you need this scholarship.
  • (2) $500.00
