Academic Challenge State Qualifiers

Brady recently had students qualify for state in two academic competitions.
On February 25, the BHS team of Micah Trull, Robert Stafford, and Jeffrey Davis competed at the Texas Association of Academic Schools regional Academic Challenge in Comanche.  Teams are tested over the four core subject areas of Math, Science, English, and Social Studies.  Despite being tied for last at the halfway mark, the BHS team rallied and posted the best score in the second half.  After winning the tie-breaker round, the team placed third and qualified for the state tournament to be held in Belton April 8.  Team members also received scholarship money for their efforts.

On February 28, BHS hosted the Region XV U.S. Citizen Bee contest at our administration building.  Students in the competition are tested over their knowledge in four areas:  U.S. Constitution, Founding Fathers and important documents, Supreme Court cases, and Current Events.  Despite facing some stiff competition which included students from San Angelo Central High School, BHS students Robert Stafford and James Villanueva placed 1st and 2nd  and won gift certificates of $100 and $50 respectively.  The contest is hosted by the State Bar of Texas and Robert will represent BHS at the state contest to be held at the state capital April 28 and James will serve as the Region XV alternate.

We’re extremely proud of all these students for their effort and hard work.
